"Having Alison as my life coach was definitely an asset -- I had a "coach in my corner".  She helped me to set specific goals and we reviewed these together every week sometimes making changes or revising as needed.

Having a life coach introduced a measure of accountability, in that every week we discussed my progress including pitfalls and obstacles encountered.  Alison unfailingly steered me toward the positive.  She focused on what had been accomplished and why.  She helped me avoid repeating lifelong mistakes made in previous attempts to reach vaguely defined goals.

The biggest, probably most important, thing about having Alison as a Life Coach was understanding that "slipping up" was not the end of the attempt.  It was merely a bump in the road and I was able to come up with strategies and ways around this "bump" sot hat my progress could continue.  Alison made me see that I had the answers, I just didn't know it.  She mined my mind for the valuable nuggets of knowledge that my past experiences had given me and I was able to use these to map the road to my goals."

"Life coaching helped me discover what's really important in my life.  My main goals were to lose weight and keep it off, have more energy and have a truly healthy lifestyle.  I wanted to be a healthier, happier person for both myself and my family.  I discovered what my challenges were and how to eliminate the obstacles that stood in my way to reaching my goals.  Together we set weekly goals and came up with solutions to any obstacles that I could foresee for that week.  After every weekly call I gained a renewed energy to start the week.  I now have healthy new habits and have developed clear strategies to achieve my goals and have gained the confidence to make a lasting change.  Life coaching gave me the support, motivation and inspiration I needed.

I am much more active now that I was before and I feel happier, more positive, energetic and healthier, and I feel more in control.  I was able to drop my old bad habits and develop good habits and incorporate them into my life.

When I began I was watching TV constantly and doing hardly any exercise.  Now, I enjoy going on the treadmill for 1/2 an hour every day or going for long walks and enjoying the outdoors.  I tried water aerobics for the first time and loved it!  I have started parking my car at the far end of the parking lot because I have learned that every bit of activity helps.  I even bought my first set of weights and have started some weight training.  Now I have tons of energy!

I went from being a coffee addict to losing caffeine cravings and I am now down to just one cup of coffee a day.

I have learned how to make healthy choices in restaurants and realized that I enjoy the healthier choices better than the high calorie alternatives.

I went from feeling discouraged and unhappy to being confident again.  I record all my successes, goals and accomplishments in a daily journal.  I have been able to incorporate healthy diet and exercise into my daily routine.

As of now, I am down 16 lobs and am well on my way to the new me!!
